"……. You've lost me."
"Easy. I'm endothermic and you're exothermic. Therefore, to achieve thermal equilibrium, cuddling is a necessity until said balance is reached."
"…. Toph, have you been in the cactus juice again?"
*sigh* "No. Okay, listen up Boomerang Boy. Two objects, that's you and me, have our own temperature. When the two meet, when we cuddle, a balance of heat energy is naturally achieved. That's what the second law states. I'm endothermic, meaning I absorb your energy to make me warm, and you're exothermic, meaning you release your energy to the surroundings. In this case, the surroundings would be me. Got all that?"
"Sorta."
"Good. Now snuggle up. I'm cold."

I don't know how, why, or where Toph learned these things. But I do know that when this random thought popped into my brain this morning, Tokka was the perfect couple to share in this discovery.
